The Gigli House was recently restored. It’s sited on a prime location: very close to the road leading to the beaches Portonovo and Mezzavalle and a few meters away from the bus stop of the area. Beside the house there is a large yard filled with chairs and sun beds, and a long string tied to two trees on which to dry clothes outdoors. There's an ’hammock which faces the street and of course we could not miss a barbecue made of stones and tables to set for a pleasant family dinner. Behind the house there is a large field. With a short walk on the side of the field you get to a viewpoint that we call “Belvedere”. From here it is possible to observe the Bay Mezzavalle and the rock Trave with its typical high coastline that ends down to peak.
The name of the house comes from the name of the family that lived here for thirty years. They were amazing people who taught us a lot about country life: hospitable, affectionate and generous with their time and their knowledge. This is why we thought they deserved their name to be maintained. Currently, the lands belonging to the house are about six hectares, but until the sixties their possessions was much more extensive, as sharecroppers then worked all the cliffs that descend to the sea, growing wheat and various vegetables.
It's composed of two three-rooms apartments hosting up to 4 people each (one ground floor and one on the first floor), a four-rooms flat hosting up to 4 people people on the ground floor, There is also apartment hosting up to 2 people on the first floor.
